I knew if I waited just another day I could make a two for one commitment post. Quick. Ask me for the lottery numbers before... shit. Too late. Anyways, the Fighting Irish landed two more commitments for the class of 2009.
Marlon Pollard became the 10th Irish verbal commit for the class of 2009 on Monday. Marlon originally had committed to UCLA, but he grew unsure of his decision and started to look elsewhere.
The 6' 1" 160 lbs. cornerback from San Bernardino, California was blown away on his visit to Notre Dame. He said phrases like "like-minded people", and "distance is not a factor" and you just kind of figured Notre Dame would have a chance.Marlon's mom will be moving to an area close to South Bend to help support Marlon and his decision.
This guy is very mature for his age and it just so happens that he is a very good ball player. He is very quick and flies around the ball. He seems to have that "switch" in his head, because he goes from a very nice young man off of the field, to a nasty animal on the field.
Fist pumps for everyone!
Tyler Eifert committed to Notre Dame this morning becoming the 11th verbal commitment for 2009 for the Irish. The 6'6" 220 lbs. tight end from Bishop Dwenger in Fort Wayne chose the Irish over Purdue, Minnesota, and Northwestern amongst others.
While the commitment may not be a surprise, the offer looked as if it might have been. It was a long time coming for Tyler, who did all he could by busting his ass to garner an offer to come to Notre Dame and play football for the Irish.
As most people know, Eifert hails from the same school as future Irish wide receiver, John Goodman. More importantly though, Notre Dame and Charlie Weis are doing what past regime's did not do. They are coming into Fort Wayne and recruiting kids. The city can boast a lot of talent from the past 20 years that have moved on to great college careers and some have even went on to the NFL to become very good players and even future Hall of Famers (Rod Woodson).
Headbutts all around too!!!
